Hello!  I’m Cindi.

The beach

This is my blog.  But it’s not about me.  The following quote sums up my intention for this blog better than anything I could write:

As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has – or will ever have – something inside that is unique to all time.  It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing it’s expression.

It was written by Fred Rogers, who hosted a very beloved television show when I was a little girl. Mister Rogers Neighborhood created a welcoming community that taught three generations about love, friendship, respect, individuality, imagination and honesty.

When I moved to Long Beach in 2010 I felt that sense of community spirit and saw it multiply exponentially after Hurricane Sandy.  This town is strong.  Unique.  Artsy.  Hard working.  And filled with interesting, helpful, friendly people.

And coincidentally or not – just like Mister Rogers Neighborhood – we even have our own trolley!

If you’re interested in my background feel free to check out my bio, but all you really need to know is that I’m a storyteller.  I’m interested in meeting people, getting to know them, hearing their experiences and learning from them.  I’m hoping this blog will be a place to get to know some really cool neighbors you might never have known were living right here in our charming little beach town.

Contact me here if you know someone who wants to share their story with me.
